Learning More about Coretta Scott King Award Winners

The journal Booklist’s Quick Tips Newsletter recently highlighted a website that teachers, librarians and homeschoolers may find useful to extend their study of African American authors and illustrators who have won the Coretta Scott King Awards:
“TeachingBooks.net now offers the Coretta Scott King Book Award Online Curriculum Resource Center, a searchable database featuring more than 250 voice recordings of the winners and honor recipients, including Maya Angelou, Walter Dean Myers, Jerry Pinkney, and Christopher Paul Curtis, as well as a comprehensive selection of lesson plans, book readings, and videos. Don’t miss this outstanding free resource as you celebrate Black History Month with your students.”
